Where does ‘So Long‘ come from?
This interjection is a parting salutation but we don’t really know where it comes from. It might be from a German idiom < adieu so lange>, that means something like “farewell, whilst we’re apart ; or perhaps from Hebrew shalom (in Yiddish sholom).
